Please try setting “Shift time” parameter to “+2” in Data Center, I think that it will solve your issue.
I’m not 100% sure but here are my calculations:
All our data are in GMT so daily candles close at 0:00 GMT.
5 PM EST is equal to 10 PM GMT (0:00 GMT+2) so you have to shift data in the program for +2 hours.
Do not forget to re-generate ticks after you change “Shift time” parameter.

Hi,
I'm attaching two shots; 1) ForexTester and 2) FXCM.
In the ForexTester shot, I've circled Mondays which shows the gaps. I've included a shot of the same data range from FXCM, although I haven't circled Monday candles. The FXCM chart doesn't have the Monday gap and the several candles I've checked, FXCM is merging Sunday and Monday candles them correctly.
Side Note:
Just out of curiousity, I went back into the Data Center, put a check mark in the "Ignore Weekend" box, rebuilt the data and the chart looks the same. Ie, visually there was not a difference in the ForexTester charts with and without the "Ignore Weekend Data" box selected.
Can someone else look at this to see if it's on my end or not?
Thanks,
Rich

Re: How to get New York Close 5 Day Bars?
Is that calculation for adjusting to New York close correct ?
I want to make sure I'm using NY close but I think adding 2hrs is possible wrong.
This is my calculation.
GMT is 5 hrs ahead of EST (NY time)
so NY close @ 17:00 = 22:00 GMT
Forexite data has a 0:00 GMT close
0:00 GMT = 19:00 EST (NY Time)
This is two hours later than we want
So surely we need to take -2 hour shift ?
Can anyone clarify this please.
Thanks
Stephen

Hello Stephen,
17:00 EST = 22:00 GMT = 00:00 GMT+2. So caily candles will close at 00:00 if you set time zone = GMT+2
17:00 EST = 22:00 GMT = 00:00 GMT+2. So caily candles will close at 00:00 if you set time zone = GMT+2

Thanks for your help but I'm still confused - sorry
You said :
17:00 EST = 22:00 GMT = 00:00 GMT+2. So caily candles will close at 00:00 if you set time zone = GMT+2
But we want the daily candle to close at 22:00 GMT
17:00 EST = 22:00 GMT
22:00 GMT = 0:00 -2 surely
0:00 GMT+2 = 02:00
Sorry if I'm being dumb

Hello,
Maybe we are talking about different things. Sorry, I can be wrong too.
Please try to shift time to (-2) and to (+2). Which bars are correct for you? Please use the "shift time" parameter which is more convenient for you.

Not saying your wrong
I'm just trying to get it clear in my head
OK, I figured out another way of looking at the same problem:
Forexite feed has a daily close of 0:00 GMT
I want a daily close of 22:00 GMT
So, I want a daily close 2 hrs earlier than the data feed default
So, offset = -2hrs
Can anyone confirm please
Thanks Stephen

Hello,
22:00 GMT = 00:00 GMT+2. So if you want to see the last bar of the day in Forex Tester as NY Close bar then you need to set time shift to +2.

Re: How to get New York Close 5 Day Bars?
I've just done some quick tests on various settings and using +2 seems to show data correctly.
I am obviously not understanding it correctly but at least I now know that using +2 as you originally said is correct
Thanks for your patience

Re: How to get New York Close 5 Day Bars?
When I import USDCHF from Forexite with a +2 offset I dont see any changes in the bars in Testing Mode.
Attached are screen shots of how I imported the data (I also generated ticks before going to Testing mode) and then a screen shot of the day close bar and a screen shot of the hour close bar which shows that a period separator is generated at approximately 00:00.
Could you please let me know why this is happening? I would like my close at 5pm EST like the others.
Thanks!

I also have tried using the 'Clear' button in the data center and then re-downloading the data with the offset already at -5 and then regenerated ticks, still dont see the end of the day at GMT -5 though. Still seems to be closing at GMT 00:00.

Re: How to get New York Close 5 Day Bars?
Hello,
When you shift time in Forex Tester you move bars but not the time. First bar is always opened at 00:00 and last bar is closed 23:59 in Forex Tester. But you can select which bar will be first and last by shifting the time in Forex Tester. So this bar is New York Close bar, also this is the end bar in the program too. So all should be fine now.
Please let us know if you still have problems.

Hi, I went to Data Center, changed the shift time from o to +2 and click "Update from server". Checked "ignore weekends". Then I ticked my currency pair and clicked "Generate ticks". However, when I turn to the Testing Mode, the chart still displays candles for Saturday and Sunday. Please help

Re: How to get New York Close 5 Day Bars?
I found a solution so ill share it here:
1. Download Tickstory Lite (http://www.tickstory.com/) and install it.
2. Download the data you need
3. Click "Export to file"
4. Under Data Output->Adjust timezone select "EST+7 New York Trading Hours" and Output-Format->Pre-Defined select ForexTester Bar Format and 1 Minute Data
5. Go to FT2 Datacenter and "Import from File" . Do not shift the data. I also check "Ignore Weekends" just in case there are some ticks wrong.
