For some reason, I can only see my metatrader history export files (*.csv) through metatrader. After creating them, I open the folder they are in and I can't see them. Excel can't find them either but metatrader can. Anyone seen this before?

Make sure you know what folder you're saving them in then check that folder with the Windows Explorer. It sounds like you may be saving them with the wrong extension or possibly no extension. However they're being saved, if MT4 can see them then they must exist, so you should be able to find them with Windows Explorer/My Computer.

If you are using Windows Vista and saving the files within the Program Files\MT4\... location you could also navigate to the folder through My Computer (File Explorer) and click the 'Compatibility Files' button at the top of the expolorer window (if it exists).

This will take you to another folder where Vista saves some items that can't be saved directly within the Program Files file structure (for security reasons).

Regards,
Steve
