|
|
Hi All,
I purchased Forex Tester 2 days ago, and im having a few troubles with setting up the data to be similar to that of my cfd broker, cityindex (direct market access).
The following are the details from my broker for the AUD/USD:
So how do I input this data on the symbol properties:
I think ive got the Lot size set correctly.
Pip Spread is set correctly i also think - i dont know what the "digits after point", "minimal point" and "distance to price" mean.
Is my margin setup correctly to be 0.5% of notional value?
And finally,
my broker pays 4.25% +-2% (ie 6.25% on long) daily on long/short positions, how can I convert this into pips so that I can fix up the "swaps" section?
Thanks everyone for your help, if you could let me know what ive setup correcly and what needs to be fixed that would be great cheers. |

Hello,
Please check the lot size again, usually the lot size for AUDUSD is 100000. Margin should be checked as well.
Minimal point is set correctly, it is the same with Tick Value in your broker spec
Digits after point depends on "minimal point" so 4 is correct
Minimal price distance should be set to 0 according to "minimum order distance" in broker spec _________________ Check our other products here:

Lot size of 10,000 implies that your broker is offering mini-lots, meaning that when you buy or sell 1 lot, you are actually trading 1/10 of a standard lot. As FTSupport says, for a USD based pair (xxxUSD) the standard lot size is 100,000.
I'd like to see an answer on the swap question, though. The way that swap is listed in Forex Tester is confusing to me, and I've never seen a broker that quotes it in the same way. Exactly what should a user enter into FT if the swap is, say, 4.25%? _________________ Tantalus Research - Developing 21st Century Trading Systems. |
