Hey,

I just started with FT and I download the historical prices of EURUSD. I tested it and then I thought I should install some other pairs. SO I installed historcal prices and charts for USDCAD, but now when I go to testing mode and click on "add new chart" the EURUSD has disappeared.

Please let me know how to get multiple pairs in testing mode, since right now I am only seeing USDCAD. Also, I can't open the older projects that I saved for EURUSD. When I open, it says "symbol list was changed, cannot find EURUSD".

One more question, does anyone know when the day closes/opens? My data is from "forexite".

Please help. Thanks Smile

Hello,

Please re-generate ticks for both EURUSD and USDCAD (check them both in "generate ticks dialog").

our data are in GMT time zone so daily bars open/close at 0:00 GMT

Thanks a lot, that worked. Now, is there a way to change the closing time to 5pm EST? If so, please let me know.

And another thing, how do I add a pair that's not in the list in data center?

Thanks

Please try to set “Shift time” parameter to “-2” in Data Center, I think that it will solve your issue.

I’m not 100% sure but here are my calculations:
All our data are in GMT so daily candles close at 0:00 GMT.
5 PM EST is equal to 10 PM GMT so you have to shift time in the program for minus 2 hours.

Just press "Add" button below the list of pairs and fill data in next window according to your broker's specification.

Hi again,

I am still having trouble with this. When I click "update from server" and click "generate ticks" I still cant test multiple pairs at the same time. I have tried this by selecting multiple pairs, updated from server and generated ticks for all of them. It does appear in "select new chart" in testing mode but when i click start test, the chart remains blank even after the loading process is complete.

Currently it only works when I select just one pair, cick "update from server" and generate ticks for that one pair. I am unable to do it with multiple pairs. So far I've been doing just 1 pair at a time. Its tedious to wait to download each time i want a new pair. Please help!!

Thanks Smile

Please check that you have enough data for the same time periods for all pairs that you want to test. You may have data for one period in one pair and another period in another pair. You can check imported periods in Data Center

I am a newbie testing FT demo: I can not generate multi pairs data correctley for EURUSD, EURCHF and USDCHF . sep 1 to sep 30, 2011. I update from server for all 3 pairs with same dates. After when I generate ticks clicking all 3 pairs, but after I change to testing mode USDCHF has a blank chart with message No Data. The other 2 pairs are fine.

Any suggestions?

It is ok that Forex Tester shows “No Data” in testing mode. It is just the result of the previous test but if you did not do any test before on some currency pairs it will show “No Data”.
You just need to start a new test to replace “No Data” message with quots.
