US Dollar Index chart

#1 Postby Jaywalker » Sat Jun 08, 2013 12:04 pm

Hi

I need some help working out how to generate historical US Dollar index charts.

Alpari seems to be the only broker amongst the brokers in the new data service that offers the US Dollar index.

if i purchase 3 months data, my question is how do I generate/create this symbol as the US Dollar index (dxy) is not listed in the history centre.

Thanks
Mike

Hello,

You need to create a new symbol in Data Center window using "Add" button. After you click "Add" button please enter the symbol name, select symbol type and other symbol properties.
Please note that if you want to download data for this symbol from our Data Service, symbol name should be the same as here: http://www.forextester.com/data/FullDataList.html

Hi

The dollar index is not included in the list of currencies available at the above link.

Does this mean that I need to import the data from an outside source, and create a new symbol file in FT2?

Please help

Many thanks
Mike

Hello,

Yes, you need to create this symbol in Forex Tester, then import this symbol from other source (Forex Tester allows importing data in .txt, .csv and .hst formats)
