Stepping forwards issue

#1 Postby pthomas82 » Wed Sep 15, 2010 3:32 am

Hi,

Im running parabolic SAR on 1 hr chart and im finding this slow down FT2 massively when i use space bar to step fowards bar vs bar.

I only have CCI & Parabolic SAR on the chart, only 1 chart open.

The PC I run is a i7-920 (oc'ed to 4gz), 6gb ram with + 1tb free HD space.

got any ideas?

Hello,

Do you have these indicators on one timeframe only? or do you have them on several timeframes. Each timeframe is calculated separately so this can slow-down testing.
Also what parameters have you set for indicators?

Hi,

Thanks for the response:

The CCI = 20 Period

The Parabolic Sar = StartPR - 0.0200 / StepPR - 0.0200 / EndPR 0.2

Im only looking at 1 chart - 1 hr, and manual testing (space to step forwards)

Thanks in advance for your help =)

Hmm, i've just tried that and FT worked pretty fast.

Please do the following:

1) Check that no automatic strategies are running at this moment, or jsut turn off strategy execution ("Testing -> Enable/Disable Strategy execution" menu).
2) Re-generate ticks using "by Open/High/Low/Close" option
3) Close your chart and open a new chart

let me know if you still have problems with this

Ok,

I did all those steps. Now if I start testing from first date in range its nice and snappy (how it should be),

but if I define first date - go forwards 8 years from the start and preload 2189 days, thats when it is slow..

thanks for your efforts

Additionally - If I have 3 pairs open at once, I can only step through a couple of months before is slows right down.

Can I get an update on how this issue is going - I really want to get through 10+ years of testing, but even 1 is an issue.

Please update.

Hello,

we understand that this is a serious problem but there is a long queue of major issues that should be fixed before this.
I think that it will be fixed approximately in a month.
