#1 Postby Kcomplex » Tue Oct 13, 2009 7:02 pm

forex tester made my computer restart with no warning - just simply a blue screen flashed up. Then my computer took a couple of attempts to restart with the blue screen popping up twice more. finally it loaded XP but now i can't start forex tester. as i keep getting this error message. i have also sent the bug report electronically. Thanks

Probably your Windows XP is damaged due to hardware fault or some other reason, so maybe you need to reinstall your OS.

But definitely Forex Tester installation was damaged also, so you need to reinstal it please do the following steps:

1) Uninstall Forex Tester: Start->Programs->Forex Tester 2->Uninstall Forex Tester

2) Download newest version from our site http://www.forextester.com/download.html

3) Install it again (please see installation instructions here:
http://www.forextester.com/installation.html or you can watch this video

Yes you can keep your projects and rtemplates, please do the following:

- If you chose "Create data base in the program's folder" (as shown in attached screenshot) during previous installation process then please go to program folder (C:\ForexTester2 by default) and backup the following folders: "data", "Projects", "Templates"
- If you chose "Create data base in the default folder" during previous installation then go to "C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\ForexTester2" under Windows XP or "C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\ForexTester2" under Windows Vista and backup the following folders: "data", "Projects", "Templates"

After you reinstall Forex Tester replace corresponding folders with backuped ones.
