Hi,
it will be nice if you can add multi processor support, nowadays almost everybody has at least two core processor. I think it can be easily added to strategy optimizer, because each test is independent and can be put on separate core. It can speedup tests maybe by 70%. On regular testing its probably more dificult.

I agree. Past about 4 years after this topic was posted, I think there still are growing needs for FT2 to support multi-core processors. For me, it is so slow to test with multiple windows that everytime I click "step forward by single bar" with a window of the daily or longer timeframes activated I get frustrated.

Re: Multi processor support
I agree on this, to i run ForexTester2 on a dedicated PC with no other purpose or background services.
The CPU is Quadcore Q6600. But i encountered some performance Issuses when i trade multitimeframe strategies. I figured out it is because FT2 uses only 1 core.
Technically there are a lot of tast which could outsourced to different cpu-cores.
I would suggest to set this feature on your list.

Hello,
Forex Tester 3 is in Beta Testing stage now, it will be released in a few weeks.
Please try doing the following things to speed up testing in FT2:
1) Remove all indicators instances that you do not need at the current moment.
For example you may have 2 MA on 2 timeframes (let’s say on M5 and M15) of one chart. Each of these MA instances will be calculated separately so it is recommended to remove all indicators that you do not need at the current moment and leave the indicators only on the timeframes which you use.
2) Check that no automatic strategies are running at this moment, or just turn off strategy execution ("Testing -> Enable/Disable Strategy execution" menu).
3) Re-generate ticks using "by Open/High/Low/Close" option
4) Try to start a new test from some date and uncheck “Preload days” checkbox
5) Maybe some of your data files were corrupted. Try to delete all of the data using “Clear” button and then download it from Data Center.
6) Maybe you test too many pairs at the same time. Please try to generate ticks for lesser number of pairs and start a new test.
