Set Time Interval for Bar Updates - ie 'Real Time' testing

#1 Postby Tantalus » Wed Dec 10, 2008 1:03 pm

I'm thinking it would be very useful to be able to have the bars updated at a specific time interval - for manual trading practice in Testing Mode.

For instance, if you're practicing manual trading in M1 timeframe, it would be nice to have each successive bar displayed at a preset time interval. One might set the M1 bars to appear at 15 second intervals, for instance (4x the real market speed) or at 60 second intervals (1x real market speed). For getting the feel of real intraday trading or scalping, you really need to have this element of time available.

Currently, we can choose to have each bar update occur in pause mode - only when the user hits the Space bar - or at a speed which seems to be determined by FTPro for the purpose of automatic strategy testing... and this speed is much too fast for manual trade practice.

I use FX Tester pro for manual testing only, so your idea sounds great to me.
