Issues with Heiken Ashi and candle paint bar code.

#1 Postby djspinburner » Thu Nov 19, 2015 10:35 am

Candle Paintbar not working correctly. Heiken Ashi indicator paints candles half blue and half red during test mode but paints them correctly in history mode. Is there any adjustment to the code that would paint them all blue or red with source code provided?

Hello,

Can you please send the screenshtot of your issue?
I've just checked Heiken Ashi indicator and it works properly in both History and Testing Mode.
It paint the candles of only one color.

Please also check that the same color is set for Up bar color and Up bar fill color in the properties of this indicator (also for down and down bar color).

Hello,

Thank you for the screenshot.

Please set "bars mode" in Forex Tester program (please see the screenshot), this will help.

Hello,

These are the same bars, just Open and Close values are shown by a small horizontal line instead of building the whole bar.

You can switch between "Bars Mode" and "Candles mode" and see that the bars are the same.

My problem is that I used the candle painting code based on that indicator for something else that I use. I have a problem with the candles being painted half one color and half another, and changing that to bar mode makes no difference. I coded it based on reference to Ahki Ashi in the API. this is where I am looking for some help as it is making my testing difficult. I baught 2 copies of forex tester and need this one problem fixed so that I can actually start using it properly.

Hello,

Sorry, but this is the only version of Heiken Ashi indicator we have.

Please also see this theme:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1185&hilit=Heiken+Ashi

There you will find a source code (.dpr file) of Heiken Ashi Smoothed indicator, it builds the bars in one color.

I hope, this will help.

I fixed it :) I added a index+1 instead of index and now it paints the candle after it closes so we are all good. Also for you in case you want to fix the issue on your end as well.

Thanks for the help though.
