Triangulated Moving Average (TMA)

#1 Postby ericjschroeder » Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:08 am

I have been testing this indicator in MT4 but it is impossible to backtest so will gladly pay someone to convert this for Forex Tester. Hopefully it's not too difficult.

(apparently I can't post the .mq4 here so contact me for the code)

Eric, this particular indicator has a problem in that it repaints the past, which means that it changes the data for past bars to make it look better than it really was. You can't look at the trace on the chart and make any assumptions of how well you could have traded, because the trace is falsified as time goes by to give the appearance of a no-lag indicator. In fact, when the repainting is removed, it is nothing more than a typical linear weighted moving average.

A true Triangle Moving Average is a different indicator than the one your using, and it does have lag.

Yes, I understand that. That is why I need to test it in real time.

Anyone have TMA for forex tester? The repainted version and not true TMA. Please pm me.
