Question about spread before I purchase.

I am thinking of purchasing the VIP tick data package + one license of Forex Tester 2 but I have a couple of points that I would like clarified first. I understand that this package comes with a floating spread (assuming that I select “import tick data”), does this mean that the data comes with both bid and ask prices so that I can test my strategies with a real spread and not a fixed spread? Also, I have data from my own broker with both bid and ask prices, will I be able to import this in the same way (ie with real spreads)? What is the format of the Forex Tester 2 data files of real tick data?

Hello,

Yes, tick data are provided with bid and ask values for each price movement so you will be able to test your strategies with real (floating) spread.

Tick data can't be imported from a file, you can download them only from our Data Service.

Tick data have the following format:
Pair, Date, Time, Bid, Ask
EURUSD,20150615,000000,1.12248,1.12234
EURUSD,20150615,000001,1.12246,1.1223
EURUSD,20150615,000002,1.12236,1.12224
EURUSD,20150615,000003,1.12233,1.1222

Please note that you can download 1 month of tick data in demo version of Forex Tester, then start testing on these data and check if these data work for you.
