Hello,
I am new to the FT program. I noted in the tutorials that in creating a new security that it is possible to specify the security type as "stock". Hence, does this not mean that if we create a code for it, we can also import stock and stock index data that we may have access to into the program? If so, are there any differences that we need to be aware of while doing such an import?
Regards,
Asoka

Re: Stock Data
Hello Asoka,
Forex Tester allows to perform testing on stocks, futures etc. data.
We have data for some non-forex in our Paid Data Service (please see more info about it here: http://www.forextester.com/HistoryServiceDescription).
You can see the full list of provided data here: http://www.forextester.com/fulldatalist
But if you have historical data for these symbols from another source you can add them into Forex Tester and test them. At first you need to create this symbol in Data Center window (click “Add” button, enter the symbol name, choose “Stock” or “CFD” symbol type and press “OK” button).
Then choose this symbol, click “Import from a file” button and add historical data into Forex Tester.
Data for stocks and indices are very similar to forex data so you don't need to do any additional moves. Just import data from a file and you will be able to use them in Forex Tester.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need any help.
