Using FT2 data for model

#1 Postby BoyRobot » Thu Oct 02, 2014 4:54 pm

Hi,

I was wondering if there was anyway i could use FT2 data to calculate probabilities for example how many times 2 blue (up) candles were followed by third blue (up) candle?

Or how many times Monday was the low/high of the week?

Thanks

Yes, you can use Forex Tester data for these purposes.

We provide free historical data here:
http://www.forextester.com/data/datasources.html

Also we have Paid Data Service (http://www.forextester.com/DataService.html) where we provide additioanl data.
You can find the full list of provided data here:
http://www.forextester.com/data/FullDataList.html

Also you can write an indicator for Forex Tester which will calculate these values (number of bars, high/low) and show you on chart, for example.

We provide C++ and Delphi API files for this purpose.
Or you can contact with our progammer via email services@forextester.com and he can create such indicators for you.

Hi,

Yeah, but it txt format and not .xls, which means its impossible to at least write a simple function to segment data into weeks and days. Or maybe it possible to convert it somehow?

Concerning programmers - does this cost?

You can open this file via Microsoft Excel and then use "Text to columns" option to place data into rows. So you will have usual .csv file.
