Is there anyway to create and test using custom timeframes in FT 2, such as a 12 hour chart?

Yes, this is possible. You can actually display any charts in Forex Tester, please do these steps to add custom timeframe:
1) Click on the image right next to timeframes selector (see the screenshot below)
2) Click “Add timeframe”
3) Set period in minutes (for example 12 hours = 720 minutes)
4) Click “Ok” and then ”Apply”
