specify riskk as a % of account size?

#1 Postby SwissToni » Wed Oct 02, 2013 6:48 am

Hi,

Can someone please tell me if it is possible in Forex Tester, to specify your risk in terms of a percentage of your account size?

Say for example I always wanted the position size to be 1% of the funds in my account.

Doing this manually each time you trade is would be too consuming.

Thank you

There is no built-in functionality but you can create a script which will do this job for you.

If you have programming skills then you can do this by yourself but if you need a programmer, we can find him for you.

Hi, thanks for that response. Yes I do have some Javascript experience. Can you point me to any good resources for the type of language used by ForexTester?

Is it the same language as used by MT4

Hello,

You can find FT API in Help -> Scripts API menu.

API files you can find in <ForexTester>\Examples\Scripts folder (we have Delphi and C++ API).

This would be a great add-on for future versions since most traders use a fixed risk % per trade and it will make the whole testing much faster.

Thanks

Mat
