Clarification requests.

#1 Postby johnlucas » Tue Oct 09, 2012 4:26 am

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask the following clarifications:

- is it available the indicator LWMA (Linear Weighted Moving Average)?
- is it possible to calculate the MAE (Maximum Adverse Excursion) for trades manually backtested?

thank you,

John.

Hello John,

We have "Weighted MA" option in the properties of Moving Average indicator.

For now we do not have built-in MAE calculation but I believe that this is possible to calculate it with the help of "EA" which gathers information about trades during the testing. If you really need this functionality then we can try to find a programmer who will help you.

Hi,

thank you for your reply.
Yes, I was aware of the availability of the Weighted MA.
Regarding the MAE, please take it into consideration for future releases, since it is one of the indispensable parameters for a serious evaluation of the backtested results.

bye,

John.
