Hi,
I'm having an issue with limit orders and the 'Min distance to price (pips)' setting and wanted to run it by someone to make sure it wasn't just me doing something strange.
In my symbol list I have 'Min distance to price (pips)' set to 0, but I still cant seem to set sell limits closer than the spread away, although buy limits work fine.
For instance, on the GBPUSD with the price @ 1.4574/77, a buy limit of 1.4576 is accepted but a sell limit of 1.4575 is not, I get a 'Order of this type cannot be placed at the requested price' message. The closest I can enter a sell limit is 1.4577 (the spread). I've also tried this on the EURUSD with the same result.
I have also noticed that if I set a pending buy limit further away from the market and then modify it to a closer price, it also seems to ignore the 'Min distance to price (pips)' setting. Following on from my previous example, if I set a Buy Limit for 1.4570 and then modify it to change the entry price, it will no longer accept a buy limit of 1.4576, the closest I can move it is to 1.4573. Why would it accept a new order at 1.4576 but a modified order can only get as close as 1.4573?
Can anyone else replicate these issues or am I doing something wrong here?
Thanks for your help,
Swannyfx.
Some Limit orders ignore 'Min distance to price' value?

Hello,
Please check that you have "Min distance to price"=0 in testing mode (open symbol properties in Testing Mode). Maybe you changed this setting in history mode but it was not changed in testing mode because ticks were not generated. So try to re-generate ticks after changing "Min distance to price" value in History mode.

Sorry, it is hard to predict. I hope fix will be included into version 2.7 which will be issued in a few months.

Please download it from the same link which i sent you before
I just tested 2.6.8 and part of the issue is fixed - modified buy limits now take into account the 'min distance to price' setting however sell limit orders still ignore the 'min distance to price' setting.
Also, I noticed that entering a buy limit at the ask gives you a buy market position but this doesn't work entering sell limits on the bid, which makes me think your routine to check order validity may be looking at wrong price for sells orders.
Let me know if you need more info.
